Who we are
Mysteries of Mythology operates mysteriesofmythology.com and is responsible for personal information collected directly through this website.
For a privacy question or request, email info@mysteriesofmythology.com.
Information we handle
Messages and enquiries
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, enquiry type and message. We use it to read, respond to and manage your enquiry. The usual lawful basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with viewers and business contacts; where an enquiry concerns a possible agreement, it may also be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Technical and security information
The website and its hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referring page, date and time, and diagnostic or security events. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and keep it secure. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website and, where relevant, compliance with legal obligations.
Search and the personality quiz
A website search term may appear in the requested web address and therefore in ordinary server logs. Please do not place sensitive personal information in a search.
The “Which mythical being are you?” quiz processes your answers temporarily in your browser. The answers and result are not sent to or stored by this website. The result is for entertainment and does not make a legal or similarly significant decision about you.
External media and platform links
Video thumbnail images are supplied by YouTube. Loading those images sends a normal web request to YouTube’s image servers, which can include technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
The site also links to YouTube, Spotify, X, Discord and curated Amazon reading lists. Amazon links are affiliate links, which means a qualifying purchase may earn Mysteries of Mythology a commission without changing the price you pay. If you follow one of these links, you leave this website and the destination service handles information under its own terms and privacy policy. Mysteries of Mythology does not control those services.
Who receives information
We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers where necessary to operate the site, including Hostinger for hosting and related infrastructure, email delivery services used to receive enquiries, and Google for website analytics. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or to investigate misuse of the site.
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where international transfers occur, the relevant provider is expected to use an applicable legal transfer mechanism and safeguards. You can read Hostinger’s Privacy Policy and the provider policies linked above for further details.
How long information is kept
Enquiries are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain an appropriate record of the correspondence, resolve any follow-up issue and meet legal or accounting requirements. Technical logs and analytics information are retained according to the relevant security, hosting and analytics settings, then deleted or aggregated when no longer required. Quiz answers are not retained by the website.
How information is protected
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections and restricted administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but access is limited to what is needed to operate and maintain the site.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correct it, ask for deletion or restriction, object to processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to the processing. We will consider the circumstances and stop unless there are compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the information is needed for legal claims.
To exercise a right, email info@mysteriesofmythology.com. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant record.
If you are unhappy with how a concern is handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through the ICO complaints service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website, its services or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
